Semiconductor Materials Sales Manager

Job Scope

  • Our client is the Malaysian subsidiary of a listed Chinese manufacturer of advanced materials for the semiconductor, display and electronics industries. Its portfolio includes epoxy molding compounds (EMC), photoresist, wet process chemicals and specialty materials for semiconductor packaging and advanced manufacturing. The Malaysia entity is the group's key commercial platform for business development and sales across Malaysia and Southeast Asia, serving FAB, OSAT and display manufacturing customers.
  • Role Overview
  • We are looking for an experienced, technically grounded Semiconductor Materials Sales Manager to lead commercial growth in Malaysia — driving revenue from EMC, photoresist, wet chemicals and other packaging materials across wafer fabs, OSAT providers and electronics manufacturers. The ideal candidate combines deep understanding of semiconductor packaging processes with proven commercial acumen, and can sell consultatively to engineering, procurement and R&D stakeholders.
  • Sales & Business Development
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to hit revenue and market expansion targets across Malaysia and assigned SEA territories.
  • Identify, qualify and pursue new opportunities in semiconductor packaging, wafer fabrication and display manufacturing.
  • Build a strong pipeline through prospecting, networking, industry events and channel partnerships.
  • Own the full sales cycle: lead generation, technical qualification, quotation, negotiation, contract and post-sale account management.
  • Technical & Consultative Selling
  • Advise customer engineering and R&D teams on material selection, application and process integration (especially EMC, photoresist and wet process chemicals).
  • Work with the China-based technical and R&D teams on tailored solutions for customer-specific process needs.
  • Run product presentations, technical seminars and on-site demonstrations.
  • Support customer qualification cycles: material trials, testing protocols and process validation at customer sites.
  • Account & Relationship Management
  • Manage and grow key accounts across the Malaysian semiconductor ecosystem.
  • Be the main commercial link between customers and internal teams (technical support, operations, logistics, management).
  • Track market trends, competitors, customer capacity expansions and technology node transitions.
  • Provide accurate forecasts, pipeline reports and market intelligence to regional and HQ leadership.
  • Operational & Compliance
  • Ensure sales activities comply with Malaysian regulations and company policies.
  • Manage customer credit lines and coordinate with finance on collections and payment terms.
  • Represent the company at exhibitions, trade shows and technical conferences across SEA.
  • What's on offer
  • Competitive monthly salary — negotiable, based on experience and technical background.
  • Annual performance bonus tied to sales achievement.
  • EPF, SOCSO and EIS.
  • Regional industry conferences and technical training.
  • Career growth with an expanding Southeast Asia business, with potential for regional scope.

Requirements

  • Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related technical field. Master's is an advantage.
  • Experience
  • Minimum 3 years' technical sales or business development in semiconductor materials, semiconductor equipment or specialty chemicals.
  • Proven record of meeting and exceeding targets in B2B technical sales.
  • Hands-on experience serving FAB, OSAT or advanced packaging customers in Malaysia or SEA.
  • Familiarity with EMC, photoresist, wet process chemicals or related materials highly preferred.
  • Established network in the Malaysian semiconductor ecosystem (Penang, Kulim or Klang Valley) is a strong advantage.
  • Skills
  • Strong technical knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing and packaging, incl. material selection, customer qualification and molding condition setup.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaborate across a cross-border team.
  • Business-fluent English. Mandarin is a significant advantage (coordination with HQ). Bahasa Malaysia is beneficial.
  • Willing to travel extensively within Malaysia and periodically across SEA.
  • Must be legally authorised to work in Malaysia (Malaysian citizen or valid employment pass holder).
