Senior Executive, Language Operations/Editor
Responsibilities:

Subtitle Creation & Editing: Produce and edit high-quality English and/or Chinese subtitles, ensuring correct line breaks and synchronization using professional subtitling software.

Translation & Localization: Accurately translate and localize content between English and Chinese while maintaining context, tone, and cultural nuances.

Proofreading & Quality Control: Vet, proofread, and edit final copies of subtitles to ensure grammatical accuracy, adherence to client specifications, and compliance with industry standards.

Transcription: Transcribe English and/or Chinese audio recordings accurately, aligning with client requirements.

Project Management: Manage end-to-end subtitling and translation projects, including scoping, scheduling, resource allocation, and delivery. Liaise with clients and internal teams to clarify requirements, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery within budget and quality standards. Track project performance, prepare status updates, and proactively address potential risks or bottlenecks.

Collaboration & Process Improvement: Work closely with the operations team to enhance workflow efficiency, contribute feedback, and support quality control measures.

Research & Consistency: Conduct necessary research to ensure consistent and accurate terminology usage.

Team Communication: Engage in proactive discussions with team members to address challenges, clarify requirements, and share updates.
Requirements:

Language Proficiency: Exceptional command of both English and Chinese (written and spoken), with strong grammatical, syntactical, and vocabulary knowledge in both languages.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years in subtitling, translation, or language-related roles. Demonstrated experience managing translation, subtitling, or language service projects from start to finish.

Technical Skills: Familiarity with professional subtitling software (e.g., Subtitle Edit, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar tools). Proficiency in project management tools is a plus.

Detail-Oriented: Strong proofreading, editing, and research skills to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Multitasking: Ability to handle multiple projects independently while meeting strict deadlines.

Cultural Awareness: Deep understanding of both Western and Chinese cultural contexts to ensure high-quality translations.

Certification (Preferred): A relevant translation certification is a plus.

Applicants must have a laptop or desktop with a Windows operating system, as the required software is only compatible with Windows.
Requirements:
Remuneration packages:
Basic: MYR 4,000 to MYR 6,000
EPF, SOCSO, EIS (Follow Malaysian law)
Observe Singapore’s public holidays.
Working Days: Mon – Friday
Working Hours: 9 – 6pm
Location: Remote (Malaysians only)
